The Children’s Inn thrives because of the wonderful generosity of our community. Ledo Pizza of Westlake, in Bethesda, MD, has been an amazing supporter of The Inn for many years and offers a free monthly dinner field trip for all Inn residents. Serving up to 45 residents at a time, families always look forward to the delicious house and Italian salads, varieties of pizza, and ice cream bar dessert. One of The Inn's most popular monthly events, this night out gives families a break from having to prepare dinner after a long day, typically filled with appointments at the Clinical Center. The chance to leave the NIH campus and enjoy a nice hot meal provides families with an opportunity to meet each other in a unique venue, fostering a sense of community in and outside of The Inn. “My family and I love going to Ledo pizza when we’re staying at The Inn...we have made some great friends on those trips for sure,” says Inn resident Neal Esarte, pictured below with his family during a field trip to Ledo. Even with a recent management change, Ledo has committed to continuing this amazing program for our families. The Inn is grateful for our partnership with Ledo Pizza of Westlake and is honored to be a part of their incredible charitable spirit.

Bovis Lend Lease

For the past 12 years, the Washington, DC office of Bovis Lend Lease, a global construction and project management company, has sponsored a golf tournament to support The Children's Inn at NIH. With the help of tournament participants, which include over 100 of the areas' major subcontractors, suppliers, developers and real estate professionals, more than $200,000 has been generously donated to The Inn.
"The financial support from Bovis Lend Lease has helped us bring joy and comfort to the lives of so many children undergoing treatment at the NIH," says Kathy L. Russell, Chief Executive Officer at The Children's Inn. "Last year, nearly 1,400 children and their families stayed at The Inn free of charge. Without the dedication and community involvement of Bovis, this would not be possible."
"It has been our honor to contribute to such an important, worthwhile cause," says Stephen S. Conley, Executive Vice President and Principal in charge of Bovis Lend Lease. "Contributing to The Inn eases the burden on the families that rely on the NIH for help."
In addition to their philanthropic spirit, Bovis Lend Lease Washington has been recognized as one of the region's Best Places to Work and a leader in the construction industry. Its employees are committed to maintaining excellent safety performance standards and the company has received several awards recognizing its commitment to safety.
