While The Children’s Inn provides countless programs and services free of charge, meal expenses are the responsibility of the families. Although The Inn offers four grocery store runs each week, many times families arrive late in the evening after these trips and do not have food for dinner or breakfast. Even when families are able to make it to the grocery store, limited financial resources can often make such an ordinary task stressful. Thanks to KeyImpact Sales & Systems, Inc. and Bruce Carchman, KeyImpact’s Business Development Manager, meal times are a bit less worrisome. KeyImpact has made several generous dry and frozen food donations, including items like lasagna, chicken, fish, soup and bread. These donations, which Bruce personally delivers to The Inn with a smile, are a welcomed blessing for caregivers to be able to provide a hot meal for their children. Not only do Bruce and his team contribute to the comfort of the families, but they also help us have fun here at The Inn by providing food for many of our special events, including the Annual Beach Party and our Young Ambassadors Council Barbeque. Many thanks to Bruce and KeyImpact Sales & Systems, Inc. for making such a huge difference at The Inn!

Each year to kick off the start of spring and welcome the warmer weather, The Inn holds its Annual Beach Party for residents, volunteers, staff members and all of their families. For the last three years, one of the highlights of this much anticipated event has been the entertainment that Glyde Productions provided. With an MC, a DJ and plenty of spirited dancers in tow, the Glyde crew heat up the dance floor with music and energy. As the tunes blasted away, Glyde dancers got everyone on their feet and moving, from our youngest residents to our longest-serving volunteers. This year’s Beach Party was even bigger and better than ever, a feat that would not have been possible had it not been for Glyde’s kind donation of their time and services. Thank you to Glyde Productions for their continued support of The Children’s Inn and for helping bring smiles to all of our faces!

Sapient Government Services, a long-time partner and key supporter of The Inn, has found yet another way to make a difference in the lives of the families that stay here with the formation of their very own Sapient jam band. The band, unofficially called “Core Values”, started as a group of co-workers and friends just getting together to have fun and relax after work. Their jam sessions quickly gained attention and, in 2010, the group had the opportunity to play at a Teen Retreat at The Inn. A month later, back by popular demand, the group performed once again at a second Teen Retreat. Most recently the band, which also had the honor of performing at the Sapient Summer Picnic, entertained families and staff at The Inn with an acoustic set during the 1st Annual Chili Cook-off. The eight member band features Bill Annibell and Tanisha Ferguson as vocalists, Jeff Syfu on the keyboard and vocals, Bob Wilcher and Nathan Kim on guitar, drummers Mike Santamaria and Terry Burcham, and bass guitarist Dan Roche. For keeping us moving and grooving to the beat, we thank Core Values, the Sapient jam band!
