Welcome to The Children's Inn at NIH! We look forward to doing all that we can to make your stay at The Inn as comfortable as possible. We understand that having a seriously ill child and being far from family support is extremely difficult and we want to support you, your child, and your family during this stressful time.

The current trend in pediatric institutions places a high value on the safety and protection of their guests. The Inn is no different. Therefore, as of June 1, 2009, criminal background checks will be done on all Inn residents age 18 and over in the following way:
  1. Each family member or friend age 18 and over staying at The Inn must complete a Certification Form and Background Check Authorization Form
  2. Completed forms must be returned to The Inn immediately via fax 301-496-4421 or mail to: The Children's Inn at NIH, 7 West Drive, Bethesda, MD 20814
  3. Forms must be received two days before the date of your reservation.  If not received then a background check must be performed when you arrive and may require alternative accommodations for your family
  4. Evidence of criminal behavior involving a minor, may require alternative accommodations for your family
We appreciate that this requirement may be viewed as an inconvenience; however, we hope that it is considered a small price to pay for the added security this provides to your child and family.
